Arrests over mother’s death follow son’s internet appeal

Police have arrested two men over the killing of a woman after her son set up a Web site appealing for information on the unsolved case.

South Yorkshire police say two men, 51 and 59, are being questioned over the death of Patricia Grainger, whose body was found in the northern English city of Sheffield in 1997.

Patricia Grainger’s 16-year-old son Daniel set up a website this year asking anyone with information on his mother’s death to contact the police.

The whokilledmymum.com Web site says Patricia Grainger was murdered when she was 25 years old and no one has been convicted of her murder.

Police would not comment today on whether the arrests are connected to the site.
